Solo queue
You alone
Matchmaking pairs you with four random teammates against another five randoms. Cleanest MMR signal — Riot can read your rank with no party noise. Highest variance.

Three ways to find a duo on TetraGG: pay a booster to carry the 2-stack, pay a coach to ride along and teach as you play, or use the free community #lfp-duo on Discord. All three keep you on your own account — no password-sharing required.

Solo queue
Matchmaking pairs you with four random teammates against another five randoms. Cleanest MMR signal — Riot can read your rank with no party noise. Highest variance.
Duo queue
Most common ranked format. Riot puts your 2-stack against teams with similar pre-made sizes, applies a small RR reduction, and (in Diamond+) enforces a rank-gap cap.
5-stack
Five friends queue together. Only matched against other 5-stacks in ranked. Longer queue times, stricter MMR. Good for Premier prep, not for fast rank climbs.

The honest version, no marketing spin.
Rank-difference cap (Diamond+)
Once both players are in Diamond+, Riot caps how far apart your ranks can be to duo at all. Specifics shift across episodes; TetraGG matches booster/coach rank to yours so you sit inside the current cap rather than gaming it.
RR gain reduction
Duoing trims your RR per-win slightly versus solo, and the cut deepens as the rank gap between the two players widens. Below Platinum the reduction is small enough to ignore for practical purposes; near the top end (Diamond → Immortal) it matters more.
MMR vs. visible rank
Your hidden MMR moves a little faster than your visible RR during a boost duo. If you stop duoing at Diamond 3, your underlying MMR may already be Ascendant — meaning solo queue will pit you against higher opponents. Plan the off-ramp.
Patch drift
Riot tweaks duo-queue restrictions a few times a year. The patterns above held across 2024-2026 episodes as of May 2026 — verify against the current patch notes if a recent Riot blog post is more authoritative.
// why duo > account-sharing
Account-shared boosting triggers Riot's location-anomaly detection — different IP, different machine, different time zone hammering ranked at once. Duo queue avoids that flag category entirely: you and the booster each play from your own logins on your own hardware. Paid boosting still technically violates Riot ToS (we don't pretend otherwise), but the risk profile of duo is meaningfully lower. The longer breakdown is on the blog.
Account-share vs. duo safety →Solo queue = you alone in matchmaking, only one other random teammate-friend allowed at most (you). Duo queue = you + one friend in a 2-stack, Riot puts you against teams with similar pre-made size. 5-stack = full pre-made team, queues only against other 5-stacks in ranked, generally slower queue times and tighter MMR. TetraGG's duo product is the 2-stack pre-made — the most common ranked format.
Yes. Riot reduces RR gain modestly when you duo, and the reduction grows as the rank gap between the two players grows. Once both players are in Diamond+, Riot also enforces a rank-difference cap — you literally cannot duo if your ranks are too far apart. We match booster/coach rank to yours to stay inside that cap and minimise the RR penalty. Specifics shift across patches; the patterns above have held across recent 2024-2026 episodes.
No. All three duo modes — booster duo, coach duo, community LFP — keep both players on their own accounts. The booster or coach plays from their own login. This is the safer pattern compared with account-sharing boosts (which require handing over your password and trigger Riot's location-anomaly detection more aggressively). For the longer comparison see /blog/valorant-account-sharing-vs-duo-safety.
By default the OCE Sydney server. We match boosters and coaches who are physically in AU/NZ/SG so their home ping is similar to yours — no VPN-from-NA boosters claiming OCE. If you're a Perth player who routinely plays on Singapore/SEA instead, mention it at checkout or in Discord and we'll match accordingly.
Slower per win, but the rank tends to stick. Account-shared solo boost lets the booster play their A-game with no coordination overhead, so games end faster. Duo means the booster's win-rate is partly bottlenecked by your play — that's the trade you make for keeping your account on your own hardware. Plan on the duo route taking roughly 1.3-1.7× the matches of an account-shared boost at the same rank gap (rough internal estimate, varies by your level).
Yes — Valorant Console launched and TetraGG has console-rank-verified boosters. Mention 'console' at checkout. The duo-queue rules are the same as PC, but the booster pool is smaller and matching may take a few extra hours.
If the duo isn't working — voice fit, schedule mismatch, playstyle clash — Discord-DM /support. Unused matches refund pro-rata from the original booster, and we rematch you at the same tier price. No penalty for asking; we'd rather you say so than grind through a bad fit.
Yes — the #lfp-duo channel on the TetraGG Discord is free, no payment, no account verification. Post rank, server, time slot, and language preference (EN/ZH/混合) and someone usually responds within hours during OCE prime time. This is how a lot of long-term duos form.
